I SURVIVED 7 DAYS OF SUMMER CAMP WITH THE LITTLE DEAF CHILDREN HERE IN SOUTH CAROLINA. JUST GOT HOME AND I AM SO TIRED HOWEVER I DO NOT HAVE THE EMPTY NEST SYNDROME. (LOL) AS SOON AS I GET SOME REST I WILL BE WORKING ON THE TRUCKING CONVOY FOR SPECIAL OLYPICS AGAIN. I HAD THE LITTLE GIRLS CABIN AGES 7-11... TEN OF THEM. WE SWAM, DANCED, PUT ON SKITS, PLAYED VOLLEYBALL, BASKETBALL, KICKBALL, ARTS & CRAFTS, FRISBEE GOLF, ROLLER SKATING, 2 HOUR NATURE WALK, BOWLING, MOTORCYCLE RIDES, PLAYED BINGO, VISITED WITH MISS AMERICA, HAD A COP OUT TO TALK ABOUT GANG AWARENESS SINCE THEY USE THEIR OWN SIGN LANGUAGE, CAMPFIRE, & FIREWORKS. WE ATE THREE MEALS A DAY TOOK SHOWERS EVERYDAY AND DECORATED CABINS AND THEN CLEANED THE CABINS. REMEMBER WITH TEN LITTLE GIRLS!!!!! (LOL) GOT LOTS AND LOTS OF HUGS. BOBBIEGALE
Starting Saturday June 6, 2009 I will be at Summer Camp Wonder Hands for a whole week with the deaf children. These kids are no different than other kids just their ears don't work. Attitudes are the same. LOL I love them and can't wait to see them again. Hope to have some pictures to post. Bobbiegale
I will be at the Flying J Truck Stop on Monday July 13, 2009 from 2:30pm until about 7:30pm. The address is below. I will be there talking to the truckers about the South Carolina Trucking Convoy for Special Olympics. If you are in the area please come by and say hello. Was at a festival this am helping with the signing of the National Anthem. We had a deaf boy signing it and I was in the audience so he could watch me and know when to start and stop and at what spot in the song the person was at. I can sign part of it but not all of it. I want to learn the entire National Anthem and then sign it for the trucking convoy in September. I hope to learn it at the camp for little deaf children in June and then practice it until September.
